A wanted parolee got more than he bargained for when he grabbed a chain saw from the back of a pickup truck and ended up being chased down by the rightful owner, Hanford police said.
It started around 5 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Redington and Third streets. Rodolfo Carnero, 35, is accused of reaching into the back of a stopped pickup and hauling out a chain saw. But before he could walk away, owner Salvador Araiza told police he confronted him and demanded its return.
Instead, Carnero lifted the power tool above his head and made to hit Araiza with it, police said. That’s when Araiza’s friend ran up and said he’d called 911 and officers were on their way...
